Below you will find more detailed information on many of our options available on our cable products. We offer more cable options than anyone else, and as a result, it may be overwhelming. Please use this information to guide you through the options, or give us a call if you need further guidance or clarification. Options available vary by product, additional details specific to each cable are located at the top of each product page. The following options are explained below: Gear at D-Sub End A & Gear at D-Sub End B |

Body Label Band | ||||||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() The body band applies only to male RCA connectors (Neutrik NYS373). It is a completely cosmetic option but is great for connector identification. Typical uses might be black or white for left, red for right, yellow for video. We offer it in 10 colors: brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray, white, and black. |

![]() X-Series Boots ![]() XX-Series Boots ![]() C-Series Boots ![]() PX-Series Boots ![]() BST-BNC-Series Boots These boots are available for all Neutrik XLR, 1/4", and BNC connectors. It is a completely cosmetic option but is great for connector identification. There are 4 different boot styles: BSX for X-Series: Used on all of our straight XLR connectors These are available in 10 colors: brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray, white, and black. Black is standard at no extra cost. When a shrink color label is also chosen, it gives you the opportunity for an impressive color code system with 100 possible combinations. The only minor concern is that the shades of some colors don't perfectly match between the different series. The X and C series match, and the XX and PX series match, but the X and C do not match the XX and PX. But in most cases, this is only a concern if going from certain straight to right angle. On snake cables, selecting "Multi-Color" allows for easy location of the connectors in the fanout, as this option gives each channel of the snake it's own color. |

Shrink Color Label | ||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
||||||||||||||||||
The shrink color label is available on most cables. It offers a color identification but also acts as a strain relief for most cables. For most cables and connectors, it fits under that connector and sticks out about 1.5 inches. It adds a stiffer section to the cable right at the connector entry to strengthen it and reduce stress on the conductors. If the custom label is chosen, it is printed on this shrink. For snake cables this option is the same thing, just going from connector to fanout. There are multiple color label options to identify groups of channels. We offer it in 10 colors: brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray, white, and black. |

Label & Label 2 | ||||||||||||||||||
![]() Custom Label ![]() Custom Label on Snake Cable The easiest way to identify a cable is to put a label on it. We offer a custom label option on most of our cables so that you can have the best-labeled cable available. It is printed on a piece of shrink tubing on the wire so it cannot fall off, eliminating missing labels or gummy messes from tape. You can use the label for anything you wish, like name and phone number, company name, what it is connecting to, etc. On single cables, it is printed on the optional "Shrink Color Label." On snakes, it is printed on the "Master Color Label" which is the shrink that connects between the overall jacket snake and the fanout. |

Shrink Color Master | ||||||||||||||||||
![]() On all of our custom snakes, we use braided sleeving on the fanout. At the transition from the overall jacket to the fanout, we apply shrink tubing to smooth the transition. We offer this shrink in colors to identify cables. If the custom label is chosen, it is printed on this shrink. We offer it in 10 colors for most snake sizes: brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray, white, and black. |

D-Sub Hood | ||||||||||||||||||
We have a variety of hood options depending on the D-sub size. They fall into two categories: metal and plastic. Metal offers the best strength, protection, and shielding and is recommended for most applications. Plastic, while still very durable, is best in low-abuse environments but does not offer any RFI or EMP protection. |

Gear at D-Sub End A & Gear at D-Sub End B | ||||||||||||||||||
This option applies to snakes with D-sub connectors. Most analog pinouts are standard, but there is a variety of digital pinouts. This is a free option for which we request customers to fill in their information so that we can confirm that what we build is what works for the gear. This assures that we are building the cable to fit your gear, as occasionally we do come across new or odd pinouts. |
||||||||||||||||||
Screws | ||||||||||||||||||
![]() This option applies to D-sub connectors only. Most gear in the USA has American threads on the D-subs, but we have identified some that do use metric, so we offer them as an option for those that need it. |
||||||||||||||||||
Fanout Label | ||||||||||||||||||
![]() "Ch-1" is standard numbering, "Aux R" is a custom label This is a special feature for snakes with D-sub to another connector. By default, the snake is numbered. However, the custom label option is offered to make system setup easier. With this option, we will custom label the fanout end to match the D-sub connector that the cable is plugged into.
For example, if you had a Digidesign, ProControl Audio Output (stereo mode), the labels would read:
We can custom label any snake (documentation may be required), which makes for easy setup without the need to pull out your manual each time. Non-standard or patchbay labels can also be done upon request |

Fanout Length & Fanout Length 2 | ||||||||||||||||||
